ingrid keir

Ingrid Keir began studying yoga seven years ago based on the advice of a friend. At the time, she was diagnosed with a repetitive strain injury. The recommended course of action was to take medication which would be harmful to her body. Investigating alternative healing, she decided to take her friend's advice and quickly realized the benefits of a consistent asana practice when the pain began to dissapate. As her practice strengthened, her interest in the philisophical and spiritual aspects of yoga, as well as meditation, increased. Eventually, this led her to the path of becoming a yoga instructor.

Ingrid initially studied at Sivananda Yoga Vendanta Center and went on to complete her teacher training at Atmananda, now called Centerpoint Studios, in New York. She studied with many gifted teachers such as
Jhon Tamayo, Paula Tursi, Adrienne Burke and Sabina Stahl.

Ingrid teaches a vigorous blend of vinyasa and hatha yoga, a flowing practice that incorporates the spiritual aspects of yoga philosophy, as well as focuses on alignment techniques. She believes that the practice of yoga is highly personal and intimate. Her hope is that students will learn how to move their bodies, not merely by knowing where to put one's foot or hand, but through the breath and becoming aware of what feels right from the inside out.

In addition, Ingrid teaches restorative yoga, private lessons and corporate workshops.
